In line with the global COVID-19 pandemic, people from all walks of life have made the shift to a newer way of living, or what we commonly call ‘the new norm’.

We at Mah Sing Group are no different.

We realize that the only constant is change, and that change we must in order to survive and thrive in the new norm.

With an eye on the future, being complacent wouldn’t be the best course of action, as we always believe in going forward.

Thus, we have decided to do just that, something bold and brave,  — to embark on an expansion when most are scaling back.

Our plan was clear, the expansion has to leverage on our expertise in the field of manufacturing, garnered from four decades worth of experience manufacturing plastic products via our subsidiary MS Plastics Industries Sdn Bhd (MPSI).

And the sector we identified, was the healthcare sector.

Why?

Based on the report by The Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association, MARGMA, the rubber glove industry (a subset of the healthcare sector) has been growing at an average of 8% – 10% for the past 25 years, and that is even before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic! Hence our decision to venture into this sector via our new arm, Mah Sing Healthcare, a wholly owned subsidiary of MPSI

Our Founder and Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum believes that there is excess demand for rubber gloves in the market as the top four producers’ supply lines are booked even up to early 2022.

With our experience in plastic manufacturing, together with support from potential synergies derived from our glove, plastic and property businesses, we at Mah Sing are determined to meet our production date of April 2021. Additional piling works has commenced to accommodate 12 production lines at the factory in Kapar, to ensure that everything is on schedule to meet pent-up demand.

Thus, we are hopeful and excited to see where this new venture brings the Group!

Onwards and upwards for Mah Sing!
