Lifestyle, Projects

Your home is a representation of who you are as a person. When it comes to choosing a home for your family, it’s a different ball game altogether- their collective needs and preferences take priority. You ensure that they settle in happily, with their safety, comfort and convenience superseding everything else.

You do your best in searching for a home that fits everyone perfectly- the right size to accommodate everyone including your mother-in-law who said she’ll visit every week after the lockdown ends, a good location where your child can reach school in 20 minutes, a gym and sauna room for your spouse to stay fit, and with plenty of amenities around.

But what if there are lifestyle possibilities that can make your family happier at home, other than these basic elements? Read on to see 5 creative home personalities that may reflect your family’s, making not just a family home, but dare we say, a more fun, liberating, thoughtful, memorable and meaningful family living possible for you and your family.

For the Water-loving Family

You’ve found yourself daydreaming about lounging on the beach sipping fresh coconuts for a year now, your spouse is hooked on island vacation shows and your children make do with the inflatable pool at home. These are some common traits of thalassophiles; people who love the sea.

If your family’s the same, Meridin Bayvue in Johor or Ferringhi Residence 2 in Penang might do the trick for you. They tick all the boxes of a seaside home- amazing views of the sea, the salty air and cool sea breeze, the beach accessible without having to cross a district. Think massive amounts of fun in the sun for the kids and the privilege to unwind for the parents as much as they want, without paying for an actual beach holiday. Score!

For the water-loving family

For the Outdoor-sy Family

You find anywhere green including orchards and gardens irresistible; you replay Sound of Music to your kids just to bask in the alpine scenery, you teach them gardening and how to grow fruits, herbs and vegetables, your spouse imagines a new home with plenty of potted plants indoors, the go-to family holiday destinations are the highlands.

Nature’s just so easy to love, and we understand why. Greenery soothes and calms our senses effortlessly, simply looking at it lowers our heartrates. You can enjoy the feeling of vertical garden living at M Arisa who won the Best Landscape High-Rise Development Award in the recent iProperty Development Excellence Awards 2021 or High-Rise Development of the Year –  M Adora’s open lawns, herb garden, hammock garden and seating alcoves.

For the Growing Family

It’s true, one of the most fulfilling things is to have all your loved ones living under one roof. Where grandparents get to spoil the kids, and ideally all the kids get their own room. Family occasions become that much more meaningful; festivals become so much more fun. But then these call for more living space.

If you place value on togetherness and unity of your multi-generation family, see the importance of your parents spending time with your kids and you want your kids and pets to have space to lay outdoors, the 97.6-acre M Aruna in Rawang or the 1,313-acre Meridin East in Iskandar Malaysia is for you. These landed homes are not just spacious, the outdoors is an inviting avenue for the family to spend time together via interesting facilities e.g. the fishing pier, bird trail, tree house, water garden and more at Meridin East.

For the Refined Family

The finer things in life are usually your family’s cup of tea; we’re talking weekend English afternoon teas, followed by a cheese platter before dinner, an intellectual discourse on Renaissance architectural traits, valet parking, horseback riding or appreciation for fine arts or the opera.

You then might instantly find that M Oscar tickles your fancy, a residence that looks high-end and certainly is so, with a canyon-inspired porte cochere, starlight-inspired swimming pool and wetlands-inspired greenery. Besides the co-working space and dual floating gyms above the Olympics regulations-sized swimming pool at the resort-inspired M Centura, is the unspoken luxury of its strategic location close to the city.

For the Metropolitan Family

The big KL city isn’t just all about its bright lights, big malls, and towering skyscrapers. Underneath the busy exterior lie cultural elements that form the matrix of placemaking. It’s where multicultural diversity is most apparent, botanical gardens, public parks and nature reserves await visiting, cultural centres like museums and libraries are and where the most transportation links coexist.

The most treasured element however is convenience, of being surrounded by copious amounts of services vital for day-to-day living. M Luna in Kepong for example enjoys the conveniences of Kepong while being just 20 minutes’ drive away from the city. M Vertica in Cheras is in a similar position, only with more amenities for your family to enjoy.

In the End, You Know Your Family Best.

When it comes to choosing a family home, the more you know your family and understand their personalities, the more it’ll help you make the best choice in choosing your forever home. In fact, many of the choices you make today as parents set the foundation for the choices and preferences your children will have in the future. So why not give them the privilege to grow up in a home that they will love, for it’ll give them a childhood home to fondly look back to.
